Girls Soccer can’t find net against Centennial

Cleveland came into the September 13th varsity girls soccer match against Centennial expecting to leave victorious. They instead went home disappointed with their performance. Despite multiple chances, Cleveland wasn’t able to convert on any of their shots. Fortunately for Cleveland, their rival team in Centennial couldn’t convert on any of their attempts either. The game was sloppy for the most part, and it appeared that both teams were disappointed.

Audrey Olenski, a sophomore Cleveland forward, said it effectively in “I think we played pretty well, but we struggled in the first half. We played pretty well in the second half, but failed to put it in the net.”

When asked about what could go better to avoid another zero goal outing Olenski replied “I think we need to connect better between our forwards and midfielders. There was kind of some disconnect there. We also need to work on moving off the ball. That would result in some goals.”

The Cleveland girls varsity soccer team will face La Salle in a tough matchup at 7 tonight the 15th of September. La Salle is undefeated. That streak must end.
