Warriors PIL Champions again!

The Warriors have won their 11th District wrestling championship in a row the weekend of Feb. 19! In dominating fashion the Warriors placed first as a team with 363.5 points, which was 101 points ahead of second place Grant.

The Warriors had four wrestlers place first in their respective weight classes: Sean Lee at 113, Logan Medford at 138, Callum Smeller at 152 and Garrett Cappalonga at 182.

On the girls wrestling side Haley Vann won her second consecutive state championship, defending her 120 pound title in style, winning in under 57 seconds! She became the first girls wrestler in program history to win two state titles.

Alongside the four boys district champions, the team will also send eight podium finishers directly to the state meet: Josh Sonnichsen,182, third place; Jacob Blosser, 170, second; Daniel Passmore, 160, second; Connor Smeller, 160, third; Peter Fengler Johnson, 152, second; Max Copus, 132, third; Nakoa Flores, 120, second; William Kingman, 106, third. .

With 12 wrestlers competing, the Warriors will look to bring the OSAA wrestling state championship to Cleveland this weekend, Feb. 26-27 at Sandy High School.
