Girls Basketball Lincoln Preview

By Noah Kemper and Holden Cole

Noah’s Player to Watch: Tynesha Parnell

Parnell has been on a scoring tear this season. She is averaging over 17 points, three assists, and two steals per contest. Though she only put up nine points against Grant High School on Jan. 18, she is sure to have a comeback game at home against Lincoln High School.

Holden’s Player to Watch: Julia Downing.

So far this season Downing has averaged 7.5 rebounds as well as 1.3 blocks, both team leading. Her hustle has been key in every win for Cleveland so far this season.

Keys to the Game:

If the Warriors shoot over 40 percent from the field and grab over 35 rebounds a win is certain over a relatively weak Lincoln team. The Warriors will still need to play with effort to put their season back on track after Portland’s rough weather spurt. Rebounds and limiting turnovers will be very important against this Lincoln team. The Warriors will need as many opportunities as they can get to keep up with the Cardinal offense.

Prediction:

The Cleveland Warriors will score 65 points and beat the Lincoln Cardinals handily this afternoon. Tynesha will return to her usual groove and players like Elena Matt and Julia Downing will grab rebounds and give support in scoring. Let’s go Warriors!
