Francesca Milhizer and Warner Cole Elected New Student Body Presidents

During seventh period on Thursday, April 18, Cleveland students elected Student Body officials for next year. Because no positions were contested, an assembly was not held, but a vote was still required to formalize the election, according to Eric Mirsepassi, leadership teacher.
Juniors Francesca Milhizer and Warner Cole were elected co-Student Body President. Sophomore Nate Bone will be the Vice President, junior Camilia Saulino will be Secretary, and junior Mitchell Rose the new Publicity Representative.
Mirsepassi commented on the new co-presidents. “They’re super strong leaders and really involved in the school,” he said. “I’m really thrilled that both of them decided to run together, and I think they complement each other well.”
The Student Body Council works closely with the four class cabinets. “They help be a voice to the student body and to provide some feedback for our administrators,” Mirsepassi continued. “Our administrators tend to come to our leadership classes when they want to get feedback from students.”
In addition, Cole and Milhizer are in charge of running the Leadership classes. Cole has three years of leadership experience and Milhizer has two. They are both excited for the year to come.
“We really care about Cleveland. Cleveland is near and dear to our hearts, and we feel like we can bring a lot to the table in terms of improving the school,” Cole said.
Cleveland Leadership works on a wide variety of projects, from planning assemblies to collaborating with other school groups to planning volunteer and community-building opportunities.
“I think next year we want to work towards the goal of really letting the student body know what we are, why we’re a class, and not only planning assemblies and dances, but also working to make more of a community of Cleveland,” Milhizer finished.
