Five Cleveland band students and one quintet recently qualified for state competition, according to Gary Riler, band director.

The students are Leo Marchyok (oboe), Lena Thomas (bassoon), Maia Connelly (trumpet), Henry Parker (trombone), and Radley Baker (mallet percussion).

Also qualifying for state was the Cleveland Brass Quintet (large brass category).
Qualifying as first alternates were Iris Stasiuk (flute), Paige Lowery (clarinet), Alice Bokman (oboe), and Ariah Piper (bassoon).

The state solo competition will be held May 3-8, and the band competition will be held May 24 – 30.
