The Cleveland band program plays pep music in the auditorium for the annual play-a-thon fundraiser. This year the fundraiser earned $27,000 for the program.

Cleveland’s band program earned $27,000 at its annual play-a-thon fundraiser on Oct. 15, said Gary Riler, the program’s director.
Because the district does not support the needs of the program, the earnings will help pay for annual costs such as sheet music, travel and performance fees.
“We also use the fundraised money to support all of our students that wish to audition for honor groups, and participate in solo and ensemble contests. These all have fees, and this money covers those costs so no band student at Cleveland needs to make a choice based on their financial situation,” Riler said.
Cleveland’s bands performed from 4 p.m. to 9:45 p.m. for a live-streamed audience. A link to the GoFundMe page is listed here: https://gofund.me/b4a7a644
