Band Students Earn All State Recognition
Cleveland’s band program recently received notice that 12 of its band members made all state, according to the Oregon Music Education Association (OMEA).
The 12 students will perform in Eugene on Jan. 14-16 in jazz, symphony orchestra, wind and symphonic bands, said Gary Riler, the band program director. Twenty students in all auditioned for the all-state recognition.
Making all state are Auden Koeneke, alto saxophone (jazz ensemble); Henry Parker, trombone (symphony orchestra); and Maia Connelly, trumpet, Liem Friel, trombone, Lorenzo Jamesbarry, trombone, Eden Warmflash, percussion (wind ensemble); and Maya Hausman, flute, Iris Stasiuk, flute, Alice Bokman, oboe, Paige Lowery, Bb clarinet, Tai Friel, trombone, Gemma Canfield, euphonium BC (symphonic band).
