Warrior Wrestlers Place 8th at State
The Cleveland Warriors wrestling season has come to an end after this weekend’s State Championships at Sandy High School. Led by coach Jeff Zerba, Cleveland finished eighth overall at state with 73 Points.
Individually Cleveland had three wrestlers finish on the podium in Sandy. Sean Lee took sixth (113); Logan Medford finished third (138); and Garrett Cappalonga took fifth (182). Nakoa Flores barely missed out on a podium finish, falling in the quarterfinals. On the girls’ side, Haley Vann went back-to-back, winning her second consecutive state title.
The Warriors had another successful season, winning the PIL title for the 11th year in a row.
With Cleveland having eight state competitors returning next year, the team will be looking to repeat its success and extend the PIL streak to 12 in a row.
