Zinnia Sirokman, a junior, was named Rose Festival Princess for Cleveland High School at a ceremony after school in the school auditorium March 16.

Sirokman is an Advanced Leadership class member, where she is in charge of athletic public relations. She is also a member of the student body class cabinet as publicity rep. She has been a member of the wrestling team for three years, as well as the track and field team for three years, where she competes in the throwing events. She plans to major in education and become a special-ed teacher.

Also vying for the title was Eliana Leone, also a junior. Leone is a member of the symphonic band and plays alto saxophone. An IB diploma candidate, she also plays violin in the Portland Metropolitan Youth Symphony. Her favorite place is the Saturday Market and she enjoys the Grand Floral Parade for the marching bands and floats. She plans to major in an engineering field.

The third candidate was Claire Yeates, a junior. Yeates is an IB diploma candidate, a National Honor Society member, and sings in the Cleveland A choir. She was also a member of the 2021 Constitution Team that placed second in the state and competed at nationals. Additionally, Yeates plays cello for the Portland Metropolitan Youth Symphony. Her favorite place is Powell’s Books. She plans to attend Brigham Young University and study English or psychology.
