Describe the Meet in Two Words: Successful and Difficult
The Cleveland Girls did very well at the North Salem tournament Jan 4. With only seven girls wrestling, five placed. Maria Caudillo took fourth (100), Wynnie Posedel (115) and Natalie Benn (135) placed fifth, Aubrey Spangler took fourth (135) and Izzy Herring took first (155). It was a pretty fast day. Wrestling started at 9 a.m. and all the matches were done at 1 p.m. “Even though a lot of injuries made some of us not wrestle, those of us that did, did well,” said Spangler.
What’s next?
The girls team is headed to Kelso, Washington for a two day tournament Jan. 10 -11. There will be close to 80 schools coming, making it a huge tournament and one of the biggest girls tournaments on the West Coast. The week after the boys and girls teams are headed to Redmond for the Oregon Classic Jan. 16 -18.
