How did Cleveland do?

Only three girls wrestled this weekend with most of the team injured. Three of the wrestlers, Aubrey Spangler, Natalie Benn and Izzy Herring are getting very close to their match count, which is the number of matches one can wrestle before regionals. The cap is 50 matches and Spangler was unable to wrestle this weekend because of it. Kiera Callahan, Benn and Herring were the three wrestlers this weekend. Callahan went 1-2, Benn went 2-2, and Herring placed third.

What’s next?

This Wednesday, Feb. 5 is Senior Night! The dual will be at home in the Cleveland gym against Grant. The girls’ dual will start around 5:45 p.m. after the senior night presentation. This coming weekend, Feb. 8, is a tournament at Ida B. Wells and is the last tournament before regionals. Many of the injured wrestlers will return to wrestle in this tournament.
