Varsity Boys Soccer: Cleveland falls to the Titans in first game

By Ronan, McCann

For their first game of the year the varsity and junior varsity boys soccer teams went to West Salem to play the Titans. After an hour and a half long bus ride to Salem, they played the night before school started on Aug. 29. Cleveland’s junior varsity team played the Titan’s at 5 p.m. earlier that night and won 5-1. Varsity was not as fortunate. The final score was 2-1 in favor of the Titans. Senior Theo Close-Kung scored Cleveland’s lone goal. “It was a good first team to play so we now where we stand and how to move forward into the season,” he said. Not a great first result, but they will be looking to improve on it throughout the season.
