Varsity Girls Soccer: Warriors Win Against Centennial

The girls’ varsity soccer team fought hard to come away with a 3-0 win over the Centennial Eagles on Tuesday, Sept. 12. Two goals came from sophomore Avery Kyle and one goal was scored by senior Ellie Mortensen.

“We showed up to their field ready to work hard and get a win,” said junior Eliza Herring. “At first it was hard to adjust to the field because it was grass, but as the game progressed we played better soccer.”

Head Coach Emily Ngan was proud of how the team adapted to the circumstances of the game. “It was a good test for our players. It’s tough when we play a game on rough field conditions and not getting calls our way, but I thought our players handled the adversity extremely well,” she said.

The Warriors play De La Salle at De La Salle on Thursday, Sept 14. They play Wilsonville at home on Tuesday, Sept. 19.
