Varsity Girls Soccer: Warriors Beat Lincoln in Sixth Straight Win
October 10, 20171 Views
The Girls’ Varsity Soccer Team (7-1-1) fought hard to beat the Lincoln Cardinals (3-5) 1-0 on Thursday, Sept. 28. This was Cleveland’s second league game, and their league record now stands at 2-0. The goal was scored by senior Lauryn Ruegg.
This was a huge win for the team because they anticipated Lincoln to be one of their toughest league opponents. “It was a tough game, but we worked our butts off for the win,” said junior Eliza Herring.
Head Coach Emily Ngan believes that the key to the game was “learning how to play as Warriors and figuring out a way to fight all 80 minutes for each other.”
The Warriors play Madison on Tuesday, Oct. 3.
