The first home football game of the season kicked off Friday, Sept. 9 against Glencoe and proved that the team is still a work in progress, losing 42-7.

“Some things didn’t go well for us early and our mindset went a little bit negative,” said Eric Fraser, the new head coach of the football team.

Though the team came up shorter than expected, the crowd was sure to keep cheering on the Warriors for every play they made.

The highlights of the night were Jake Cashion Jr., a junior, who was able to help out his team by making 10 attempted rushes and 16 yards. John Lloyd, a junior, attempted 4 passes and managed to pass the ball 38 yards. Finally, Malik Benson, a sophomore, rushed 89 yards and scored the only touchdown of the game.
Their next game is a league game against Wilson and they are all expecting improvements.
